The CESS library attained the distinction of being one of the most resourceful libraries of the Telangana state, particularly in the field of Social Sciences and its related fields. The mission of the library is to acquire, organize, preserve, and disseminate information to support the research needs of students, faculty and social science researchers of the Centre, in addition to the off-campus researchers. The library offers access to print and electronic resources, including books, journals, newspapers, CD-ROMs, e-journals, e-databases and particularly Government Reports to its users in a pleasant reading environment.

The Library is fully automated with KOHA-a Library Management Open Source Software and also Institutional Repository with Dspace software. It is also having the rich collection of World Bank publications as the only Depository Library of the World Bank which helps to enhance the knowledge of researchers in the world scenario.

Total collection of the library is nearly 50,000 volumes which include working papers, monographs, theses, annual reports of the centre and other institutes. The library is equipped with widely acclaimed statistical reports, reference books and textbooks. Nearly 120 print journals are subscribed by the Library in addition to the online databases.

The Library is having access to JSTOR, EBSCO-EconLit Database, EPW Research Foundation India Time Series, IndiaStat, CMIE (Centre for Monitoring Indian Economy) Prowess Database (offline database) and offline article database of the print journals.
