Brief Profile

Jadhav Chakradhar is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Centre for Economic and Social Studies (CESS), Hyderabad. Before joining CESS Hyderabad, he worked at PES University, Bangalore, as an Assistant Professor of Economics and as a  Research Associate at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore. He has taught at the levels of masters and doctoral programmes at CESS Hyderabad and PES University Bangalore. Some of the main courses which he has taught are microeconomics, macroeconomics, advanced macroeconomics, international trade, development economics, econometrics, and applied econometrics. He was associated with United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (UNESCAP) for providing consultancy services regarding international trade and fisheries subsidies. He was invited several times as a resource person at UNESCAP, Bangkok, Thailand, for different workshops and training programmes. His area of interest in research includes international trade, economic and policy uncertainty, fisheries subsidies, corporate social responsibility, firm financial performance, and labor market discrimination. He has also published his work in top-rated journals, including Singapore Economic Review, Marine Policy, Business and Society Review, etc. He has presented his research output at several national and international academic forums, including the Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Bangalore, Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT), Indian Institute of Management (IIM), Jammu, Vietnam National University (VNU), Asia-Pacific Applied Economics Association (APAEA) University of Adelaide (Australia) and UNCTAD/UNESCAP.

He has attended prestigious summer schools and workshops conducted by the South Asian Network on Economic Modelling (SANEM), UNCTAD, UNESCAP, International Growth Centre (IGC), Central Asia Regional Economic Cooperation (CAREC), UNCTAD-YSI, Asian Development Bank (ADB), LeBow College of Business, Drexel University, Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Bangalore and EXIM Bank and RIS.

Currently, he is in the editorial board member of the International Journal of Business and Economics Research. He is also a reviewer for Singapore Economic Review (SER), Humanities and Social Sciences Communications (Nature), Emerging Markets Finance and Trade (Taylor and Francis), Financial Innovation (Springer), and FIIB Business Review (Sage), etc.

He frequently writes to newspapers on contemporary issues focused on international trade, the economics of reservation, innovation, and macroeconomics.

Recently, he received ICMAI best paper award on the theme of Financial Management in a conference held at IIM Jammu and the University of Bradford, UK. He has also received the best paper award at ICBIT- 2022 international conference conducted by Management Development Institute (MDI), Murshidabad.
