She began the session with chanting of Universal Prayer and briefly explained the definition, preparation for Yoga, significance of Yoga and the Common Yoga Protocol. The theme of the present year “One Earth and One Health” and the dream of the Prime Minister that “all the people of the world should be healthy” were remembered by one and all. Emphasizing that Yoga is a art and science of the body, mind and heart, she highlighted its benefits for enhancing physical health, mental well-being, and immunity. The basic understanding on the eight limbs of “Ashtanga Yoga” of HH.Patanjali Maharshi has been provided to the participants.
The Yoga Trainer explained how regular practice of yoga helps in improving lung function, increasing immunity, and maintaining overall wellness. Practicing yoga daily with discipline and determination helps in building resistance against infections such as COVID-19, while also promoting clarity of thought and inner peace apart from bringing divinity in human beings. The need for practicing Yoga from the childhood has been emphasized.
Participants performed few Asanas, Breathing practices (Pranayama) and Mudras under Common Yoga Protocol as part of the session, including:
Tadasana, Vrikshasana, Padahastasana, Ardha Chakrasana, Trikonasana, Bhujangasana, Uttanamandukasana, Sishuasana, Sethubhandasana, Pavanamuktasana, Shalabhasana, Vakrasana, Uttanapadasana, Shavasana, Pranayama (Breath Regulation Techniques), Kapalabhati (Cleansing Breath) etc.; Dhyana (Meditation).
