Dr. Vijay Korrais Assistant Professor at the Centre for Economic and Social Studies, Hyderabad since 2013. He holds a Ph.D.in Economics in the area of Labour Migration and MGNREGA from Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), New Delhi through the Centre for Development Studies (CDS), Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala. His research interests includeMigration studies, Economics of labour &Labour market, MGNREGA, Issues of unorganizedsector, Development and marginalization, and Tribal economy. He is a recipient of ‘Prof. K. Srinivasan Award for Best Paperpublished in the journal of “Demography India” for the year 2012 conferred by the Indian Association for the Study of Population (IASP).He has published quite a good number of articles and edited chapters in renowned national and international journals and publishers. He has a couple of working papers to his credit. Dr. Korra has authored a book titled “Forgotten Communities of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh: A Story of De-notified Tribes” published by Palgrave Macmillan. Singapore. He had completed more than five major projects sponsored by the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi, and the Department of Planning, Government of Telangana. He is currently working on a major project titled ‘Impact of Lift Irrigation Projects on Rural Households: A Study of erstwhile Mahbubnagar District of Telangana’. He is passionate about carrying forward the research works in the aforesaid areas and thus strives to contribute substantially to the existing body of literature, academia, and policy-making.
